In July and August, La Rosiѐre opens for the summer season. This corner of the Alps has a lot to offer in the summer and the scenery is incredibly beautiful.
Here in La Rosiѐre, two of the main chairlifts are open and are accessible to mountain bikers or walkers. Adrenaline-junkies can head to the resort’s Bike Zone to tackle the networks of blue, red and black-level downhill runs, explore the endurance trails or test their skills in the bike park. If road biking is more your scene, make like Geraint Thomas and attempt the demanding climb up to La Rosière or across the Petit Saint Bernard pass into Italy. The area has hosted several stages of both the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, so there are plenty of challenges in store! If you want an easier ride, hop on an electric bike to explore the area by road or along the commune’s new network of eMTB trails.
If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground, you can step out of Chez Robert and straight onto one of the marked footpaths. La Rosière boasts 15 hiking routes, ranging from a gentle walk to a strenuous hike, all across beautiful Alpine landscapes. There is a leisure area and playground just a few minutes’ walk from the chalet, complete with a new man-made lake. Every summer, the snow melts on the Lièvre Blanc plateau to unveil a 9-hole golf course, complete with a club house and a brand-new driving range. You can even try pony riding or archery in Les Eucherts and tennis in the village centre.
The neighbouring resorts also offer a wealth of activities during the summer. Head to Tignes to try paddle-boarding on the lake, test the new go-karting track in Les Arcs, or pop to Val d’Isere for a bit of shopping. Take a short drive down into the valley to find paragliding, white water rafting and a high ropes adventure park. But if that is all just too much then there is the famous thermal spa across the border in Pré-Saint-Didier, where you can relax in natural hot springs at the foot of Mont Blanc.
We can happily provide you with further information about any of these activities and help you plan and book an itinerary for your summer holiday in the French Alps.
Chalet Chez Robert is available as a self-catering option during the summer season. We will be there to welcome you, show you around and then we will leave you in peace to enjoy the chalet, the mountains and the hot tub! Prices include all bed linen, towels, toiletries, utilities and a welcome pack. We are, however, available to cook your evening meal if you want to take a break from the kitchen. During the summer we are dog friendly.
